Art Is Instrumental®  Mission Statement

Art can be instrumental in the formation and direction of a young mind.

Art can cultivate, motivate, and help articulate the inner creative spirit and vision of a young mind.

Art can be responsible for giving hope, life, and purpose to a young mind, that can in turn, give the very same things and more back to Art and society.

Art is instrumental.  What instruments can we provide?

A Concept Note

By Robb L. Jackson

Art Is Instrumental® is a not-for-profit organization with the purpose of promoting the music, visual, and culinary arts through the early introduction of youths to the stimulus, environment, and resources needed to promulgate such an endeavor.

Public schools have been cutting into the arts budgets of school programs and many children seldom have the opportunity to experience or experiment with instruments, visual art materials or the personal instruction needed for either.

Through the in-kind contributions of Soul Café Promotions Group and its varied assemblance of artisans, a program of school visitations has been arranged. These visitations are expressly designed to spur an interest among students for serious consideration in the learning and playing of music/instruments, as well as an adequate introduction into the world of visual art.

A program of introductory training sessions is also being developed for the express purpose of offering youths a chance to study music, visual art, and slight culinary practices for one hour every week under the guidance of an accomplished musician, artist, or chef in an atmosphere where said practices are a common occurrence.

This additional program would take place at Soul Café Promotion’s physical location Soul Café, if not at some other (SCP) sponsored location.

The aforementioned experienced artists from the varied realms of “the arts” are willing to devote an hour per week to further this program.

Under the leadership of Mr. Robb Jackson, Art Is Instrumental® will take a big step toward enhancing the number of musicians, visual artists, and chefs of the future.

It seeks to garner grants and contributions from foundations, corporations and government agencies that will assist in meeting the costs of  day-to-day operations of such a foundation, as well as private lessons for disadvantaged youths interested in pursuing “the arts” as well.

Projections are for approximately 24 youths enrolled in weekly sessions of beginner training.  There will be three head instructors, each heading the instruction of one of the three artistic persuasions (music, visual art, and culinary practices).

These fortunate youths will be the beneficiaries of an invaluable wealth of instruction, experience, and knowledge, as well as a largess of goodwill, self-worth and civic pride.

In order to capitalize on the artist community interest in the project, it is important that grant support be identified for scholarships to be provided to genuine indigenous families, whose youths wish to explore their interest in private musical, visual, and culinary art instruction.

Private instruction will be available to the participants in the weekly introductory sessions.

Art is Instrumental® is a not-for-profit, tax exempt organization and will

provide a copy of its declaratory letter from the IRS to all contributors.

Furthermore, all public performances for which the participants are performers or serve as guests, contributors will be noted in public relations materials.
