SC//ALBUM REVIEW:
"8 Diagrams is classic Wu-Tang . . . Maybe Better!"

For those new to Wu Tang Clan or HipHop for that matter, The Wu Tang Clan came up in the early 90's as a "super crew" from NYC revolutionizing HipHop & the rap game with their charisma, entrepreneurial skills and army of affiliates.
Wu Tang Clan is comprised of 9 members: Method Man, RZA, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, Ghostface, Masta Killa, GZA, U-God, and ODB (R.I.P.).
Guaranteed to be an instant classic, whether you were already a fan of "The Wu" or not, the many styles, cerebral word play, driving beats, and witty-reflective-at times humorous banter that plays throughout this album will definitely leave you bobbing your head, and appreciating one of this genre's best.

For their first 15 years, Wu Tang delivered the pop music equivalent of a Trojan horse, dressing their esoteric instincts (hardcore, street lyrics; fringe culture, fanboy fanaticism) in beats and hooks that you welcomed into your brain. For their fifth album, group leader the RZA annihilates these easy points of entry, and we're left with a suite of songs built on spaghetti western loops, 5 Percent doctrine and brooding, jazzy ambience. It's difficult, for sure, but it's also among the most rewarding HipHop releases of 2007.
